Anyone have good hashtags for #wardriving and #datalogging ? I have been thinking about a project to really just start logging as many signals and fingerprints as possible. Ideally on a #BikeTooter friendly size. I’m mostly curious about whatever existing autonomous systems, or connected systems exist in rural areas.
I’m very much a novice at this. Any links or anything would be appreciated.
Here is a picture of a deer on my bike as an offering.
Interesting Data Logging Experiment.
I have a microchip programmed to send a Discord ping when electricity goes out at the house. It and the modem has a battery backup so it can almost never lose internet.
2024's electricity supply is stable. When would the combo break?
Today, I set myself a challenge of writing a new speed test Python script that publishes to the Adafruit IO Dashboard.
I wanted to get this done in under 5 hours!
Well-mission completed!!

This uses the official speedtest.net client for Linux.
I have written an install script and a requirements file.
The API key was pulled into a secure file to ensure I don't share it!

One of my last #DataLogging work-related goals for the year was to get my email #inbox below 100 items. Let's see if I can keep it in the two-digit range for at least a month next year before things start accumulating again.
I actively file a lot of incoming emails so any left in the inbox items represent things where I feel I'm meant to be doing something.
Not #InboxZero.
Repost from previous instance…
This might seem weird but I keep a daily log of how many emails are in my inbox and how many items are in my ToDo app. Collectively they form my 'Barometer of stress'.
This doesn't help me directly reduce the number of emails or ToDo items, but it gives me a chance to step back and realise 'yep this is an abnormally busy time' and that helps me.
The big email spike in 2022 was from taking a two-week holiday.
