The "lads mag" culture of the 90s, while now obsolete materially, still characterises and pervades contemproary masculinity; both the toxic kind within our everyday peers, and the violent kind with our politics.

The 2020s are very much a rehash of the 1990s culturally (if not perhaps politically), and it seems lads mag culture - and its attack on women and feminism more broadly - is very much part of that rehash.
