We have the worst of all possible worlds. We came so tantalisingly close to obliterating the Tory party, and might have gotten there if not for a few spoiler efforts in the final leg of the election campaign.
Had we done so, I believe there'd have been a genuine movement to rebuild the normal right.
Instead we left a broken and mangled monster to fester absent the moderate voices that kept these insane far right populists in check.

Suppose you're right-wing in your politics, but not a fascist. The sort of person who might have been happy to vote for David Cameron.
Who do you vote for now? Do you feel politically homeless?
Sure, they could vote Labour, now that Labour has become a centre-right party.
But if you're a lifelong Tory voter, voting Labour must just seem wrong.
