Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court

Article 5

The jurisdiction of the Court shall be limited to the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. The Court has jurisdiction in accordance with this Statute with respect to the following crimes:

(a) The crime of #genocide;

(b) Crimes against humanity;

(c) War crimes;

(d) The crime of #aggression.

Good news: a small but solid step to deprecate the #CrimeOfAggression - the Council of Europe has created a tribunal to prosecute the RU full-scale invasion of UA [1].

Meanwhile, back on a ranch, the US invasion of Iraq awaits the year 2103 (TBC) for the creation of a crime-of-aggression tribunal [2] and this year's Israeli+US bombing of Iran awaits the year 2125 (TBC) for a crime-of-aggression tribunal [3].

The prospects of a special tribunal for the #CrimeOfAggression of the #RussianInvasionOfUkraine look good for May 2025 [1][2][3].

The prospects of a special tribunal (with full governmental institutional support) for the #CrimeOfAggression of the #USInvasionOfIraq are waiting for the govts of e.g. IQ, BR, IN, ZA, NG, KE, CL to organise and commit resources. BushJr will be 90 in 2036: still time to prosecute!
