It's silly, I guess, but I still get excited every time one of our pineapple plants starts to make a fruit. Nature is amazing and beautiful!
6 weeks in, the container garden is improving. The pea plants are showing some early blossoms, but I don't want to set the pots outside of the tent yet. The carrot sprouts could use thinning. The Black Nebula sprouts less so.
Slugs have managed to sneak underneath the cover of the tent and took nibbles on the pea leaves. I usually don't take pleasure in squishing slugs, but this is an act of war. This morning, I captured a pair and killed them barehanded.
I just found this photo I took when we were getting ready to move the pineapple plants indoors for the winter several weeks ago. This plant had two "residents" who had to be persuaded to evacuate the premises. It was either that, or spend days chasing frogs around the house after we moved the plants inside.
