So, after all those holiday gift lists we posted this year. I have some thoughts. A lot of thoughts about consumerism and capitalism (I'm generally in favour of both, as long as moral ethics are a big element within them). Some thoughts about shady information, and how to avoid it. And a bit of AI irony.

In a past life, I owned a coffee micro-roastery. We sold the "off-grid" gear we loved best & one of those was the Porlex manual grinder.
It's a sturdy thing -- deceptive in its simplicity bc the rugged design makes it ideal for camping. It's slim enough to fit into the plunger shaft of an Aeropress.
Years ago, I wrote a tutorial on cleaning it. The original post is ~10 years old and still going! π€·

Hey #coffee people - the table on my scale is a bit wobbly - a mug/carafe on there can rock back and forth a little bit. It still /seems/ to be accurate, but Iβm not entirely sure if itβs going to continue to be serviceable. Any thoughts?
