Lugnasad est une fête celte qui célèbre la mort de la nourrice du dieu Lug. Plus ancienne, cette fête correspond à la moitié du temps de pâture. Dans l'Irlande traditionnelle, on partait dans les montagnes retrouver les bergers et faire la fête avec eux dans des lieux au noms qui évoquent parfois des sœurs sorcières.
