It's Time! is an album recorded by a group led by American saxophonist Jackie McLean recorded in 1964 and released on the Blue Note label.

It's Time! Review by Thom Jurek

...The music was written entirely by either Tolliver or McLean and walks the line between modal post-bop and free jazz. It came hot on the heels of McLean's first forays into these waters on 1963's One Step Beyond and Destination Out!. There is more to it than that, of course; chordal improvisation still plays a large part in the music on this fine record. Hancock's solo on the opening "Cancellation" is the most angular thing here, and the tempo is simply breathtaking...

Love Dance is the fourth album led by trumpeter Woody Shaw which was recorded in 1975 and released on the Muse label.

Jonathan Guarriello wrote on AllMusic:

This is a fantastic album by trumpeter Woody Shaw that's unfortunately out of print for reasons I don't understand because it's one of my favorite Shaw albums. The title track "Love Dance" by pianist Joe Bonner makes it worth seeking this hard to find album out. The music on here I think falls under "fusion" but it's more like Freddie Hubbard's masterpiece Red Clay than Miles Bitches Brew. I highly recommend finding any of Woody's Muse albums.

Prelude by John Stubblefield, released on Storyville in 1977.

Hardly a prelude -- as the album's a fully-formed, fully-stated set right from the start -- easily one of the best moments ever for reedman John Stubblefield -- and an overlooked spiritual classic from the 70s! There's a vibe here that rivals the Strata East scene at their best -- no surprise, given that in addition to Stubblefield on tenor and soprano sax, the record also features Cecil Bridgewater on trumpet, Onaje Allen Gumbs on keyboards, Cecil McBee on bass, Joe Chambers on drums, and Mtume on percussion! The approach is quite different than the usual Storyville record of the 70s -- with long-spun tracks all composed by members of the group -- wonderful tunes that really give John a great chance to show the full range of his talents...- Dusty Groove

Some Other Stuff is the second album by American trombonist Grachan Moncur III, recorded on July 6, 1964 and released on Blue Note early the following year.[2] The quintet features saxophonist Wayne Shorter, and rhythm section Herbie Hancock, Cecil McBee and Tony Williams.

According to Moncur, "Gnostic" is a free jazz piece "which eliminates a pulsating meter", representing the achievement of salvation through the expression of knowledge and wisdom.[3] "Thandiwa" (Zulu: "Beloved One") is the least experimental track of the album. "The Twins", a portrayal of his twin brother, is built off only one chord; he considered the rhythm the focal point of the composition.[3] "Nomadic" is centered on a drum solo by Tony Williams. - Wikipedia
