The Music from "The Connection" is an album by the Freddie Redd Quartet, recorded as the soundtrack for Jack Gelber's 1959 play The Connection on February 15, 1960 and released on Blue Note later that year. The quartet features saxophonist Jackie McLean and rhythm section Michael Mattos and Larry Ritchie.

Freddie Redd composed the music for Jack Gelber's The Connection, a gritty play about musician junkies. Gelber had originally thought that the play would feature real musicians -- who would also double as actors in minor roles -- improvising on blues and jazz standards in the tradition of Charlie Parker, but Redd convinced him to use an original score. The two weaved Redd's original compositions into the score, making it an integral part of the play, but the music holds up superbly on its own...

Right Now! is an album by American saxophonist Jackie McLean recorded in 1965 and released on the Blue Note label. It features McLean in a quartet with pianist Larry Willis, bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Clifford Jarvis.
