Just started playing The Case of the Golden Idol.

Just the perfect game for me at the moment - no hurry, the chapters are nice and short, the difficulty of the challenges is spot on for me. So I don't feel too frustrated.

Case of the golden Idol war meiner Meinung nach einer der besten Indietitel dieses (und des letzten) Jahres. Die Story davon war zwar abgeschlossen, aber nichts was man mit einem Zeitsprung von 100-200 Jahren nicht lösen kann (um eine neue Handlung um das gleiche Objekt zu spinnen) 😁.

I would like to add my voice to the existing cacophony of those shouting about what a banger #CaseOfTheGoldenIdol is. Just finished the demo and started on the full game. If you, like me, have been putting this one off for some inexplicable reason: do yourself a favor and stop that. It’s got big #ObraDinn energy. Love it.

#CaseoftheGoldenIdol is sooo good! I did 3 cases last night, and they really start taxing your working memory. There are tons of subtle details you have to be able to read into.

Are there any predecessors for the style of input/progress gating found in Return of the Obra Dinn and The Case of the Golden Idol?

In each, you have blanks requiring info about a given scene that you must fill in correctly, through deduction and other puzzle solving, in order to progress. (See pics for screenshots from each)
