I'm playing the #RE4 Remaster, and its such a blast. All of my friends played the original, so this is fresh for me.
Lets talk about Ada Wong. I only know that toxic gamers attacked the voice actor, Lily Gao, for the performance (and its fine). So much, that she had to delete her IG account.
Gamers have this dichotomy with asian characters. Where they are fetishized or outright attacked if the don't fit a mold.
This is another form of Asian Hate. It is not acceptable.
I miss installing I/O cards; sound cards, networking cards, hba's, you name it.
modern pc building is fast and easy, but kind of boring.
I have to resort to building retro 486's to scratch that itch I guess.
On Monday's Oxide and Friends, @bcantrill and I were joined by Oxide colleague, @refugeesus, and Doug Wibben to talk about constructing the Oxide rack's cabled backplane.
Early on we became enamored with the idea of blind-mated sleds with a fixed cabled backplane--just slide in the server and it would hook up to power and networking without any cables to plug, unplug, or mis-plug.
Doug helped us figure out it was possible... and bring the idea to fruition!
I was at a friends last week. We played a lot of games together.
One of them was Faith. He played and I watched. Its a new retro horror from Airdorf Games and New Blood.
He said "I thought of you when I saw this" and it immediately spoke to me. The early Atari/Apple IIe look, and speak and spell like voices are incredible. Rotoscope animation to boot!
#CaseoftheGoldenIdol is sooo good! I did 3 cases last night, and they really start taxing your working memory. There are tons of subtle details you have to be able to read into.
