Just wondering if anyone is aware of any Canadian made carbon steel woks? If not, any recommendations for something not made in the US? #CanadianMade #MadeInCanada #CarbonSteel #Canada

Introducing #SCEPTRE – SuperCooled Electromagnetic Plate Treatment for Resistive Elements, a revolutionary #metallurgy process.

🔥 Using high DC current to heat #carbonsteel as its own resistive element, quenched between cryo-cooled and magnetically opposed #electromagnetic plates,⚙️ SCEPTRE achieves atomic precision sintering with minimal expansion.

🔬 Developed under the #UnifiedTheoryOfEnergy, it redefines #knifemaking and #metalworking.

Side note on the seasoning. A mistake I made in the past in seasoning pans was to leave on too much oil. I now apply oil then wipe it all off with a clean cloth (it becomes matte, not shiny). There is still a very thin layer left no matter how hard you wipe. This ensures structurally sound seasoning that won't chip or crack. I also wash between layers. A scrub pad for non-stick and plastic surfaces with dish soap is fine. #CarbonSteel #CastIron

I want to show off my new carbon steel pan that I used for the first time last night, making pizza. It's from Darto, an Argentinian company, and made from a single piece of 3 mm steel sheet. It is indestructible, no welds, and surprisingly inexpensive: a bit less than $100 with shipping.

The copper colour is from the 5 layers of seasoning I did, heating the pan in the oven to just below the smoke point of the super thin layer of sunflower oil (415°F) for 45 minutes. It will blacken with use. My pizza slid right off, even the caramelized cheese.

I did have a lighter MadeIn pan for a while but their handle design was just too awkward and I ended up donating it. This one is a bit lighter and bigger than my cast iron pan. #ADIML #CarbonSteel #Cooking

@rationaldoge @vosje62 No better time than now to change to #StainlessSteel, #CarbonSteel or #CastIron for your #cooking.

Just to be sure that that is what you get, without the #nasty #chemicals.

I just completed the initial seasoning of my new Strata pan — stainless-steel outer layer, aluminum middle layer, carbon-steel inner layer and cooking surface — and I can't wait to try it. More info:

As soon as I saw this diagram, I was totally sold. I immediately: wondered why no one had come up with this before, and ordered one of the pans. I ordered the 12.5″ pan, which arrived this mo…

@hannu_ikonen A funny story about my De Buyer French Country fry pan:

My daughter was visiting for Christmas. She became obsessed with this pan of mine. It turned out that I had gotten her one for Christmas, gave it to her after a few days. She became obsessed with seasoning it while she was here, and she wanted so badly to bring it on the plane with her, just a carry on. “No, I'll mail it to you.”

She managed to stuff it into her carry on.
