Bedeutung: Nach oder während des Schaltens eines Schlumpf Tretlagergetriebes alle anderen Schaltungen am Fahrrad in die jeweils andere Endposition bringen, um einen möglichst kleinen Schaltsprung zu haben.

(Am 12-Gang Mr. #Winterbrompton sind das neben dem #Schlumpf #MountainDrive die 2-Gang-Kettenschaltung und die #Brompton Wide Range 3-Gang-Nabenschaltung, also 3 gleichzeitig zu schaltende Gangschaltungen.)

Yesterday I raced my bike at the Belgian Waffle Ride in Bozeman. 111 miles, largely on gravel and even a bit of singletrack. I'd been targeting this race all season and was well prepared for it. The original driver allocates a #framebuffer containing a single bit per pixel (that's why you can see some bitshifts in the code above). To support two colours, I need double the space. Fortunately there's already support for #BWR #eink displays in the #esphome #waveshare library, so I just need to extend WaveshareEPaperBWR instead of WaveshareEPaper and my framebuffer is magically double the size: the first half is for the black colour (as before), the second is for the red colour.

Если вы, читая про Чернобыль или Фукусиму удивлялись, как можно так безалаберно относиться к проектированию АЭС – значит, вы просто не видели НАСТОЯЩЕЙ безалаберности. Нынешними системами безопасности современные АЭС обязаны массовой радиофобии (спасибо ЧАЭС и TMI!) и накопившемуся за десятилетия опыту эксплуатации (в том числе и аварийной) мирового мирного и не очень атома. Но ведь были годы, когда такие условности не стояли на пути сумрачных гениев управляемого ядерного распада.

@Angelica makes an interesting observation: the BWRX is very big because it uses natural circulation as opposed to circulation pumps. This adds to costs and site-specific complexity.

I'll go on record replying that this is somewhat of a doomer take. The reason GE-Hitachi choose this approach is because 'we' demand nuclear to be ultra safe. So, they made a design that's really a lot safer than it honestly needs to be, relying on physics instead of engineering for the cooling. We asked, they delivered. Safety has a cost.

But I feel it needs emphasizing that the BWRX still has, by far, the best cards in hand. It's based on decades of experience (it indeed being the tenth evolution of the boiling water reactor) and, more important, has a company and supply lines behind it that are living and existing with their first project underway building four reactors at Darlington in Canada.

The time for the perfect design is over. Now we open the order book and build.
