#Quetzalcoatlus northropi (ket-zal-koh-at-lus nor-thrup-eye) was an #azhdarchid #pterosaur from the late #Cretaceous of wherever in North America it wanted!

Q. northropi was one of the biggest #pterosaurs ever, full stop, with most researchers happy at a whopping 10 m (≈30 ft) wingspan estimate! This is also referred to as “too damn big”, by me.

Quetzalcoatlus is such an incredible animal. Whenever I'm at a zoo's giraffe house I remind myself that creatures of the same size were able to fly once. I painted it here from a fire truck aerial ladder perspective to show the face in a bit more detail.
