Looking for a non-amplified Bluetooth receiver board that doesn't announce in bad English during connection/disconnect - Lemmy.World

I’ve had a lot of fun making custom Bluetooth equipment for people. I’ve given a few old boomboxes new life and done some fun projects like turning old walkmans and packs of cigarettes into speakers. Sometimes I can repurpose boards from discarded electronics, but the ones I’ve bought online always have some crappy English voice that says unnecessary phrases like “your device is connected” and “no devices connected”. I try and will do, and frankly people have complained to me about the shitty digitized Chinese person speaking English every time they power on. And the thing is, most of the time it’s going to be playing at whatever volume setting the device was lost at, which is often quite loud. So does anybody have any experience here? I’ve had cheap ones from China that work great technically, but I can’t deal with this voice anymore LOL Are you aware of one with just harmony tones or chimes or something?

Finding Control Software for an old Audio Matrix - Pobierz

I recently aquired an old hacousto Accent 8x8 Audio matrix, however I cant find any still alive links for the companion software. The only lead ive found so far is an archived version of the website [https://web.archive.org/web/20030207022504/http://www.hacousto.com/international/]. Archive.org [http://Archive.org] hasnt archived the actual file though. Does anyone know of any mirrors, repositories, or other sources where something like this might still be available?

Re: making the switch on effect pedals as quiet as possible

In my experience Boss JFET-based bypass system is the quietest. So when the relay-based switcher I built did not fit the customer, I recommended Boss LS-2 instead.

They've ordered it, we tried it the other day, and.. it pops!! I was so surprised!

Thankfully they ordered other pedals to try as well: JHS Mute switch and a Dunlop Volume X Mini.

JHS Mute uses a mechanical 3pdt, but it is much more quiet than both my relay-based solution and LS-2. Crazy! I guess it's a special kind of footswitch.

The Volume Pedal would do the trick as well of course, but it's a different workflow & price.

And the quietest mute switch pedal? Boss TU-3 I had lying around. Yeah, the tuner!

So many head-scratchers with what should have been solved at least 50 years ago! A freaking mute switch!!
