A part of me is a little leery about sharing this piece from Ahmed Moor writing at The Guardian, because we're only a little over three months into the second Trump administration; these guys still have a lot of time to prosecute their fascist agenda, and while folks who're watching the regime very closely are starting to understand that Trump's ambitions exceed his grasp, a huge portion of American society is *not* paying close attention and clearly are not fully aware of the fact that we're in the middle of a concerted effort to transform the United States into a fascist dictatorship. Trump is literally one army away from being able to enact his entire totalitarian agenda, and while it is appearing as though the US military is not going to be that army, Trump's efforts to court American police and further empower federal agencies like DHS and ICE indicates that he's still shopping around for alternatives. In short, this is not a time for patience and complacency; the fascists have not lost, they are not giving up, and we're still in grave danger as a society.
With that having been noted, part of what we're doing out here is analysis of Trump regime activities in proper context; we're trying to identify patterns, and Moor is correct that a clear pattern of incompetence, self-sabotage, and an inability to focus on finishing a given project before chasing something new (and invariably fascist) Trump desires, have all served to undermine the Trumpenreich project in real time. Looking at the regime's efforts on Gaza, tariffs, and bombing Yemen the author finds a lot of fascist bluster, followed by quiet abdications and total radio silence soon after; he then (correctly in my opinion) theorizes that this is a result not just of Trump's braggadocios nature, but also the fact that the regime is comprised of bootlicker nazi minions who don't know their asses from their elbows.

Trump’s dangerous projects follow a predictable pattern
"All of it a bad joke, played on the American people.
Trump’s inability to follow through on his big initiatives is probably attributable to lots of things, but the quality of the man, and the people around him, stick out. Pete Hesgeth, the secretary of defense, appears unfocused and unbalanced in interviews. Kristi Noem, head of the US Department of Homeland Security, seems obsessed with pageantry and appearances, while the attorney general, Pam Bondi, exhibits sycophantic tendencies. Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, and JD Vance spent a lot of time explaining how dangerous Trump was – Vance compared Trump to Hitler – before joining his administration. All seem to have been hired for their ability to flatter and prostrate themselves, which is not the same as competence or executive experience."
So look, as Moor notes here an actively incompetent Trump regime is still quite capable of causing untold damager to our society and the world at large; in fact, that's what what they're doing right now. Furthermore it has to be noted that there are plenty of fascist projects where the regime has shown more tenacity in pursuing its goals; including but not limited to its mass deportation schemes, the Yarvinite attempt to seize control of cultural institutions and higher education, and the ongoing anti-trans pogrom that serves as the best recruiting mechanism the regime has to attract bipartisan support for its agenda. The situation in the United States, global financial markets, and Gaza under siege, are all horrifically bad; and yet its undeniable that if the Trump regime were even slightly more competent than they are, this would inarguably be so much worse in almost every area the government has influence over.
I cannot stress this enough; the message here is not that Trump sucks so much at being a fascist dictator that we can all go out for piña coladas and wait for the clock to run out on his administration. Part of the reason the Trump regime is flailing so hard right now is the mass resistance to the fascist regime growing in our society *despite* so much of the ruling establishment willingly collaborating with this fascist agenda. The fact is however that the nazis surrounding Trump are incompetent sycophant assclowns, and that too can be weaponized to slow down the regime and halt the progress of a very clear and open project to transform America into a fascist dictatorship under the Swine Emperor.
