I have an #AskATP:
(But also #AskAnyone.)

What % of #iMessage conversations do you reckon are #E2EE?

There are 3 ways to store them:
1) Only locally
2) Regular iCloud
3) Advanced iCloud

I don’t know the ratio, but I think I would advise most people to do no. 2. But, as long as 1 participant uses that option, things aren’t E2EE.

I don’t think that’s a problem at all — but I still hear the phrase «iMesssge is E2EE» that it would be interesting to know how true it is.

Yesterday I tried to find a good power bank to buy and was frustrated by the fact that searching for "best power banks 2024" does not return much useful or trustworthy stuff.

Do you people have a strategy for situations like this?

So our printer kicked the bucket a couple of days ago. This makes me sad because I have to get a new one now and I've come to the conclusion that printers are haunted are come directly from hell to punish us for our transgressions, real or imagined (see here: https://theoatmeal.com/comics/printers).

The thing is, our dear deceased model was a Brother model that worked without any setup on my part for which I was very thankful. I have no idea why it worked or how but it did. I'd really like to replicate this experience as best I can so thus the question I send into the void: Does anyone understand printing on Linux well enough to tell me under which circumstances a printer works without further setup? I'm running Fedora which has certain things preinstalled, I think (hplip and gutenprint but our model isn't listed in the supported printer lists of those packages).
Does it have to do with CUPS? I'd really like to avoid having to mess around with drivers myself.
Any help greatly appreciated. Boosts welcome.
