Had both nipples done in 2019 by Dan Rutt of #Cthulhu Rising #Tattoo and Piercing in #Liverpool, with 1.6x10x4 but started embedding so had them changed to 1.6x14x4 and kept them that way.

Still need cleaning pretty much every day, and the #anodizing is wearing off slowly.
I might even try #stretching them up to 2mm bars at some point. Not sure yet.

After a few false starts I succeeded in a combined Anodizing/dying with green dye.

- sandpaper grain: 240
- etching in 2% NaOH for 10 min
- rinse in water
- 2 hours in 20% NaHSO4 with 6mA/cm²=400mA
- rinse in water
- dye in 50 C dark green textile dye for 1 hour
- boil in water for 1 hour

I think the light spots are due to bubbles forming in the NaHSO4 bath... Should add motion to the bath to free bubbles.

Anodizing is an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts, and different voltages leave different oxide thicknesses and thus different colors.

My new yo-yos are here!

Well actually they are new colorways of current yo-yos I already sell. The factory calls this anodizing color Moon Rock White. “But Doc,” you sigh, “you can’t anodize a metal white”.
