Building An Analogue Computer To Simulate Neurons

The rapidly-improving speed and versatility of digital computers has mostly driven analogue computers out of use in modern systems, as has the relative difficulty of programming an analogue compute…

Bringing chaos to the #39C3: the Lorentz attractor with a #THAT #AnalogComputer displayd on #Vectrex.

Meet me and some #RetroComputing #hackers at the #VintageComputing assembly on this years #39C3 in Hamburg!

We will present some historcial running machines #AnalogSynthesizer patching, #AnalogComputer tinkering (with a #Vectrex as an #oscilloscope), and #BASIC #CodeGolf and #RetroGame workshops!

In april I exchanged my #THAT #AnalogComputer for a Leybold-Heraeus teaching analog computer from the 1980s. Then I found out anabrid had sold-out THAT. I spoke to Bernd Ulmann (from anabrid) and he did not know if there would be another batch of THAT computers. This sunday he anounced a new batch, I ordered a THAT and a few moments ago it arrived!

OH: Für mich sind alle Töne gleicherechtigt.

In Bonn there is a stall with vintage and used books. For 5 Euros I just bought a #math text book from 1968 that contains a chapter on #AnalogComputer #mathematics and programming:
