@2legged you operate under the assumption that I approve of everything the US has done and feel the need to justify it. I do not
I simply resist over simplifications. US = bad in everything it does. It’s simply not the case. As mentioned before #WWII and the defeat of #fascism is an obvious positive case.
I’d suggest the collapse of the #BerlinWall wa a good thing and being a bulwark against #Stalin was pretty helpful to folks in post war Europe.
A russian bomb was found in northern #Finland during repair work on a railroad track. The bomb was dropped during #WWII after #soviet russia tried to invade Finland as they wanted to steal land as usually.

Who remembers the prize fight where the contenders were evenly matched and in the last round both were almost done. Then this young fighter, a decent fighter, jumps into the ring and knocks one of them out and shakes the other's hand and saunters over to claim the Championship Belt.
Oh wait, that wasn't a prize fight. that was the #USA in #WWII.
#WWII is one hell of an exception and makes the case for an appropriate use of military power and against Lindbergh isolationism
Every case is of course different. It behooves us to be skeptical of those gunning for conflict and disparaging diplomacy.
To my original comment #Trump is increasingly isolating the US from traditional allies it is a new type of #isolationism, perhaps a different use of the word
I agree that it is a term of disparagement but not necessarily referring to imperialists or militarists.
For me #isolationism is rooted in those who would prefer America NOT engage in #geopolitics. A case could be made that most such engagements military or otherwise have yielded negative outcomes.
I would point to #WWII and suggest that America’s non-isolationist defeat of #fascism makes a positive case. Opinions may differ 😜
1/2 I have a message this morning for the few surviving #WWII vets:
First of all, thank you very much. That Hilter guy really needed to go.
Having said that, could you do us all a favor and croak already? I think it would go a long way toward tempering our grotesque worship of the military, since you were the last guys to do anything justifiable or helpful for the world.
For too long, your heroics have been used in the service of papering over the latter half of the 20th century and the 21st.
