Timo ZimmermannI am thinking about hosting something to post photos and videos preferably with fediverse integration but Pixelfed and Loops seem a bit more on the heavy side and I don’t need most of the features.
- can be two apps, can be one
- single user or OIDC auth
- doesn’t need to do any processing of images / videos
- preferably can be followed for updates via ActivtyPub

the important detail feature over here is that it federates.
like in email revolution, in this case the feature is the communication protocol #activitpub, decentralized like email but for web sites and as you said, we still do text message and email.

Maybe somebody will do that, but it's simply not a situation anyone working with #Mastodon or any other #ActivitPub software was or still is anticipating in their design. Exponential growth was never really a goal of this system.
