#fensterfreitag Patwon Ki Haveli in Jaisalmer

Once a city of trade, Jaisalmer is still beautifully decorated by artistic rajasthani stonemasory. Especially the Havelis, past homes of the rich merchants of the silk road, reveal a hint of this history. Nowadays, the shining ceilings and details in every part of the facade strongly contrast life on the streets. Women selling cheap jewelery, men offering their rikshah service and children begging for some rupees. Cows on the streets, which exactly know when and where to get feed. Tourist guides who never stop coughing off the dust of the desert roads. Chefs of rooftop restaurants, who never left this city of 50000 residents, travel the world through the backpackers' narratives.
Today the golden city seems to be a tourists' city. And competing with more well known destinations e. g. Jaipur and Jodhpur, its' resource is the Tahr Desert. Flooding it with dozens of Desert Camps, what was a trade route once is now monetized differently.
I, myself participating in this process, do not judge this development. Who am I to do so. I am thankful for the experiences I received there.

#fotovorschlag Fünf: Five lights

Obviously this photo was taken with a high ISO of 8000. I wanted to provoke sunstars and, considering the conditions, I pushed the aparture pretty high. The a6000 is capable of a lot, but this was too much. Editing the jpg - I did not yet learn how to properly use Darktable - I got rid of many red dots but it's still pretty noisy. Which I think fits the atmosphere quite well.
The Lankenauer Höft is an awesome place for golden and blue hour photos. It's one of Bremens industrial places and ports, which are near to a recreation area. Shooting there made me fell in love with my Sony 85mm (127mm APSC) again.

A Café is the most typical example of a "third place". A third place is a public place where people meet for informal social interaction. A place where people connect with each other, a place of stories and meaning. Often those places are socially more diverse, where age and milieu ideally are leveled. (Looking at the customers I honestly have to disagree mostly.)
I appreciate a cosy atmosphere, good cake and in the best case an even better coffee.

Capturing this moment was the perfect end to my travels in Mcleod Ganj. I woke up by myself very early and through the curtains I saw a glimpse of the clouds. Instantly jumping into some light trouser and without getting a proper top layer (at that time it was about 8° C) I ran on the balcony to capture this picture. After two days of rather unspectacular sunrise I was so thankful finally receiving what I hoped for. Carrying this moment in my heart I could now say good bye to a beautiful place.

#fotovorschlag Natur in der Stadt / nature in the City (New-Delhi)

Posting this feels like a bad joke. Those little trees standing their ground in between concrete, smog and noise. It appears to be a hopeless endeavor, but what this country taught me is that there always is a way.
This big beautiful metropolis chased into my heart and it is therefore necessary to be honest and mention those parts of the city which already grew some green. For example Lodhi and the Lodhi Gardens. Delhi is full of contrast and I miss it.
