#ZMAngband #traditionalroguelikes my brave Skaven Rogue fell. He defeated legendary enemies like the #Forvalaka from #BlackCompany 's lore among others. Finally took 2 orcs and an ogre priests of Chaos to make him bite the dust. One of the best runs I ever had in my variant or any *band at all. And it was #yasd bc I was too proud to get out of there.

wellllp, I got a little farther in #dcss; by exploiting choke points and stair dancing, my Minotaur Berserker got to character level 16 and floor 3 of The Lair, only to get repeatedly put to sleep by a bunch of sheep. I'd be disappointed but it wouldn't be a #roguelike if 99% of your runs didn't end in Yet Another Stupid Death(TM). #yasd

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup aka #dcss is pretty damn hard. Even playing the recommended "easy build" of a Gargoyle Berserker, I keep dying around character and dungeon level 5. It's like you go straight from fighting a few loose rats and snakes to getting ambushed by an entire orc army all at once. And you can't grind XP because each level is permanent and the monsters stay dead, unlike in #Angband and #ADOM. #roguelike #yasd

I've been playing #nethack for a couple years now, but I'm still making silly mistakes and learning lessons the hard way. I accidentally died by erasing my class. Pay attention to the BUC status of your scrolls! #roguelike #YASD

I'm playing #CDDA again and enjoying the chaotic nature of early game roguelike before the grind sets in. This is a #YASD (yet another stupid death) because I was going too fast and wrapped my character around a tree.

It's only fitting that I make my characters last dying breath: SPEEEEEED.

First time I tried playing Caves of Qud with one of the pets that are bonus content... I have learned that the important fish is not exactly a crack shot...

"The important fish hits you (x4) with a laser beam for 28 damage!"

"You died. You were accidentally lased to death by the important fish."
