I had a personal #Linux win! My buddy wanted a cheap laptop and he asked me to find him a $200 #Chromebook. I told him any $200 Chromebook would be of crappy quality. Instead I found him a $200 #Dell #XPS for sale on #Swappa. I'm gonna install Linux and he will have a high quality kick ass fast laptop!

This is why you need to have at least 1 tech nerd friend 😀

Dell XPS 14 (2026) review: Two steps forward

Three cheers for a physical function row!

Last year I got a #ThinkPad to replace my dead #XPS. I got it on sale for a specific configuration that included only about 500GB #SSD. I had been thinking about getting a larger drive. Last time I looked a Samsung 990 was a decent choice at a decent price.

$800 for 4TB right now.

I hate, and I mean hate, the way #LLM commercialization has killed the personal and professional do-it-yourself hardware area. Hate it. Such waste for no good reason.

My trusty Dell XPS workhorse from 2019 finally died this weekend 😢

The #XPS machines from that era were incredible and they have worked awesomely with #Linux. I cannot say the same for the newer XPS models unfortunately.

Due to the constant issues with Ubuntu on the newer Dell laptops I this time went for a #Lenovo, a #ThinkPad #X9 14" to be exact.

What amazes me is that in #Spain I could order it with #Ubuntu pre-installed, something that the Dell *used to* do with the XPS line 🥳
