Has it been three years already? Time to update my introduction. I'm still Phlegm. Two years ago I quit the tech world, or rather it quit me. Now I spend my time trying to help people. I'm an #EMT, #wildland #firefighter, and #roperescue tech. I still spend most of my time in, on and around the #SalishSea.

Tuesday was a good day in the wildlands.

I don't ask my Gods to do things for me.
I do ask that they look on as I accomplish the matter myself.
My difficulties then become opportunities to shine before my Gods and ancestors.

With that in mind, and Surtr at our doorstep, I'd like to share with you a simple prayer that stays ever on my lips during fire season -

May the Gods now bear us witness
And should any of us fall
May our deeds now buy us favor
And welcome in the Hall!

For #wildland #fire folks; there are a few significant changes to this year's new Incident Response Pocket Guide (#IRPG): 1) It's Pink! 2) No Haines index or LAL any more! Instead p. 51 has a nice bit on Mixing and mixing height 3) There is an expanded 2 page section on UAS (Unmanned AIrcraft Systems).

FYI the IRPG app has not yet been updated to the new January 2025 version

Annual RT-130 #Wildland #Fire refresher tomorrow. Time to rehab my gear and make sure it is ready.
