We are having a pretty big heat wave in Europe right now and I thought I would share a pretty important tip with everybody.
Drinking just water in hot weather is not enough... Pack some other drinks in your cooler when you head out to the track (or anywhere else).
Try to get drinks with real juice in it, orange or lemon are good picks.... Anything to replace the salts you will be sweating out... Even cola will help.
Stay hydrated!
955_36This is the very first vehicle I bought, a 1979 Kawasaki KZ400. I purchased it new in October '79 and owned it for a few years before giving it to my brother for Christmas.
He rode it for a few years and then bought a bigger bike so it came back to me. I then gave it to my friend John so he could learn to ride, and after he bought a bigger bike, it again came back to me.
By that point it was pretty beat up, but I kept it, thinking someday when I'm retired I'd restore it. I always hear about old guys buying vehicles like what they first had. Well, I had the original and it has some great memories attached to it.
So now that I'm an old retired guy, I realized it's time to start getting to work on this project. Today's progress was limited to removing the front wheel assembly and then removing the 30 year old tire so I can start polishing the rim and spokes.
