I went to join the new #WikiNews and propose my write-first, edit-always philosophy.

It was 2 users, and one was discussing how to program Clawed into editing.

 I taco'd out of there.

Boo...the Wikimedia Foundation killed wikinews. I suppose it's time to see if I can get RSS Bridge to scrape the current events portal, since I don't see an RSS feed...

Can we now say that aggressive Wikipedians broke the volunteer capacity on WikiNews?

Anyone can edit Wikipedia, and a lot of people have. But few people manage to wrangle with WikiNews because the style is hostile to effort.

I can't add a Mastodon account and start banging out WikiNews stories willy nilly. Nobody can, except the Wikipedian overlords. It's too precious for that.

That's why they have to kill it off (⁠눈⁠‸⁠눈⁠)
