And what the heck are these?

Looks like someone cut off piston heads and clamped them down. Perhaps for installing piston rings, but how do these help get them on the real thing?

One is from wood, the other welded and extremely heavy.

Some good suggestions, thanks. Had another look at it.

Its not springy at all. I've marked where the holes are in the picture below. Barb wire holder is possible, those do have that kind of overhang, but then there should also be holes further down for other wires. And more of these things.

Its a holder for something, not a tool, I think, but no idea what holder.

What is it??? #whatisit
The building is quite small .. maybe 2.5 metre cube (~8ft) and has a roof & chimney. There seems to be an opening .. like a pizza oven.

The rake found this shepherds crook. Not sure what its for (its not really a shepherds crook).

Its forged rather than machine made and has a weird thickened area that I'm not even sure how it was made from the square rod.

There's a few holes, one in the thin part and one in the thick that has been driven in rather than drilled.

Old stuff. It was under the goat shelter, which was probably built around 40 years ago.

#Cooking folk, please help me and remind me what this Italian board and pestle made by Legnoart is.

I bought it at a former cordon bleu chef's own store about 30 years ago.

The label has fallen off and disappeared. I don't recall if it was packaged or sold like this.

I have asked Legnoart, who no longer sells it, in January and I have received no reply.

I vaguely recall that it may be for crushing garlic. It may have other uses, or be for some other purpose.

Is it for #ItalianCuisine ?

#WhatIsIt ???

Thank you!

Two more mystery tools.

Actually we already identified the "S" one because @vaviurka knew it from her childhood in the village. But you can guess anyways :)

The right one I have no clue, other than its homemade and was important enough to have two of them.

@Rajiv This thing.

It's very thick steel, and heavy. There is no sharp edge and never has been, all sides are flat and thick, including the angled tip.

It has a turned handle, which is unusually fancy compared to all other tools in the barn. Its relatively short, maybe waist high.

With the tip and the weight and the thick end (partially broken), I think maybe smashing a hole in the ice for fishing may have been what it was for.

It's slightly crooked, which may have been from tool abuse as pry bar, or maybe it was made like that.

What do we have here? I thought these were just rusted out side panels for a trailer, but this looks rather more complicated.

Photo of a very faded label found on a rusty piece of steel, enhanced to make partially visible again.

It's nearly time for the #Newsletter, which means it's time to get your #MysteryCoin guesses in if you haven't already!

I do like coins which are interesting shapes, and while "square" (or "square with rounded corners") may not be the most interesting geometric shape normally, it is a more interesting shape when you look at coins as there aren't quite so many (there have only been 22 common circulating coins which are some form of square in the last 50 years) - but if you know this king and emperor, you'll know this particular coin wasn't one of them...

So... we can read WHO he is.... but where is this coin from and when?
