🇨🇦 “As COVID Surges, the High Price of Viral Denial Canada’s health system reels as 1,000 die weekly. Each infection carries serious risks.” “Even a mild bout of COVID can leave a legacy of blood clots, heart failure, diabetes, decreased brain function (see sidebar), long COVID (now affecting 400 million people worldwide) and immune damage that increasingly makes people more vulnerable to a plethora of infectious diseases and possibly cancers. These problems can erupt three years after an infection and are especially prevalent in patients who’ve been hospitalized by COVID.” - https://thetyee.ca/Analysis/2024/09/03/COVID-Surge-High-Price-Viral-Denial/

A walk in the mountains.
A morning stroll to soak it all in... the light, the air, the glory of nature.

Update: Just learned I have THREE friends who are women about my age & (prior) health status whose lives have been completely upended by the misery of Long Covid.
Surfing to sofa sitting. Marathons to twice-a-day naps. Productive to long-term disability leave.

I’ll keep masking.

Patient's family member yesterday,

"But if covid is still so bad, why isn't the government doing more to educate us?"

..I don't know. What I *do* know is covid appears to be damaging immune systems, and increases risk for heart attacks, stokes, dementia and many more things.

So wear the best quality masks you can get, get boosters the first chance you can, filter & ventilate air.

Family weekend with just us two today.
Too much risky virus floating around so we called off the family get together for this weekend.

We're all each having a great family weekend, truly enjoying ourselves but missing each other terribly.

This will get better. We have other family weekends planned. And we will hug each other extra long time when it happens. <3
