This small statue of Mary is located at a church door of an old Dutch church (b. 1492). The story goes that this statue was preserved during the iconoclasm (1566) because the stormers were in too much of a hurry to destroy the statues within the church.

The Virgin and Child with Six Angels and Two Cherubim -- Francesco d'Antonio di Bartolomeo -1440-1450
I chose this picture at random from the online collection of the National Gallery. It came as a delightful discovery for me, since
I do not recall ever seeing this on display in any of my many visits to the gallery.
The gallery suggests that the Virgin's sumptuous attire makes it likely that the image was made for private devotional use, quite possibly for a wealthy female patron.
