I added back the Share and Embed options to the wikimedia videoplayer.

They show up when the video ends or when you pause. It uses the native browser Share interface, making it more maintainable.

These options had been dropped when we rewrote it years ago. This new version was the result of two hackathons over the last two years.

Someone familiar with #Peertube code? Did I get this right, the video player used on the Web GUI is VideoJS?

I uploaded a #SBS video and even with framepack option it's not handled any different by the player. Means it's not switching into a 3D context thus subtitles appear in the middle making it basically impossible to use not-baked in subtitles with such videos.

I understand this would have to be implemented into #VideoJS as a plugin?

Made this #videojs #plugin to present subtitles/captions in a #transcript layout.

All the ones that i found were from a very outdated fork that never left beta state so I gave it a go and tried to apply #a11y best practices.

Currently running in production with no complaints for a while so i open sourced it and it is open for feedback ☺️📹📜

Since Apple still won't allow fullscreen mode on iOS and nor can we use proper codecs...

I have managed to improve the Wikipedia video player slightly, by hiding our desktop dialog mode and enlarging the control size when using Desktop mode on iOS mobiles.

Still some testing to do with iPad and audio mode to make sure it works as expected, but should be a lot easier to use this way.

It seems to me the player is videojs but I see bug issues about hls.js

This is confusing me...
