As a left libertarian politician in #Vermont, I will always bear in mind that Hillary Clinton failed to received even 15% of the vote in the 2016 #VTDems primary election, which made her a "nonviable candidate".
Not all of that was simply local love for Bernie Sanders. A lot of it was a principled political ethos held by many Vermonters. Clinton is and always has been a conservative.

#VTDems have a severe problem with their seemingly complete lack of a candidate pipeline.
The #Vermont Democratic Party hasn't fielded a serious candidate for Governor in many elections, and we have been plagued with a rogue's gallery of people running for #VT Governor as Democrats who have never held elected office, presuming to step into the highest executive office in the state as their entrée to politics.
Where is the ambition? Where is the dedication to public service? #VTpol #VTpoli
I am cautiously optimistic about Amanda Janoo running for #VTGovernor, but as I've already said, I want to see concrete policy proposals, not vague ideations.

Bernie Sanders' current term is up in Jan 2031, if he doesn't retire before then. He is currently the second-oldest Senator, after Republican Chuck Grassley of Iowa.
He has supposedly said that this term "likely be his last term" in the Senate. So, #VTDems have less than 4 years to figure out who they are going to back to replace Becca Balint in DC and/or Phil Scott in Montp. Election Day 2030 will be here faster than you realize, assuming we still have elections, of course. #VTpol

#Vermont saw a 14% increase in property taxes in 2024, and will see probably another double-digit increase in 2025.
The Dem/Prog supermajority has been broken, but #VTDems need to held accountable. Taxing Vermonters like we have New Jersey's economy, especially after enacting the disastrous "Affordable Heat Act" is the road to ruin.
