I picked up an #EMC #Celerra / #VNX Control Station with drive and an EMC VNX 5500 without vault drives yesterday.

The control station seems to be fully functional. The drive is happy and has been imaged (to file and ZFS zvol for me to poke at).

One VNX storage processor is halting with a “DIMM 1” error on boot.

The good storage processor is currently recovering from some #FLARE OS / vault drives I had.

The guy I bought the goodies from has another VNX 5500 that he is going to pull a DIMM from and swap for the bad DIMM.

I think that I might be able to use the control station to recover the #DART OS for Data Movers (X-Blades) I have.

All the reading that I’ve done suggests that the Data Mover can net (#PXE) boot from the control station and do an OS install to boot / control LUNs.

F**k you! #Plasma #desktop disappeared and I can only login to the +curse word+ Ubuntu.

I remember the pain I head to configure #vnx, #X11 and #TigerVNC until I got it working.

So did anybody of you out there have the same problem and was able to solve it?
