@Judeet99 @JohnLAlford

Democrats have utterly failed the electorate.

Jimmy Carter signed the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights but not a single thing has been done with it by Democrats.

The ICESCR provides a simple step-by-step, yet holistic, approach to “civil rights” aka Human Rights.

Until the Party people recognize and realize the need for ratifying ICESCR, they will always be out of touch.

Human Rights were supposed to be the thing that brings equality to all.

Setting aside questions of interpretation,

Setting aside depth of reply, for the moment,

Considering Article 29 and 16.3, #UNUDHR ,
In balance with, Articles 12, 27, and 30,

Not being an attorney, it does seem to me that an argument can be made that there are limits to sexual freedom within human rights.

e.g., sex with a person before the age of consent, sex with animals, sex on public streets, etc.

Do you believe in the #UNUDHR and #humanrights as the answer to #racism?

“Article 7

All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.”

Time to switch gears:

“Hamas is holding 101 hostages in Gaza, who are citizens of 23 countries; citizens of Israel, but citizens of many other countries.

All those who seek a future of prosperity and peace in the Middle East should unite to build a better future.

Together, we can push back the forces of darkness and create a future of light and hope for all of us.”

Netanyahu said: “This war can end tomorrow. It can end if Hamas lays down its arms and returns our hostages.”

Gallant said. “The man who brought disaster and death to the Gaza Strip, the man who made you suffer as a result of his murderous actions — the end of this man has come. It is time to go out, release the hostages, raise your hands, surrender.”

I don’t care what party a person is in or is in power.

My singular concern is the furtherance of human rights instruments, such as ICESCR, which was signed by Carter but then never ratified in the decades since.

Human Rights are our only tool to fight fascism and both parties are doing their damnedest to delegitimize the #UN and #UNUDHR

As bad as Red MAGA is, Blue MAGA shall be similar - “clique rights” not “universal human rights”.
