One thing the #UCAFT librarian contract campaign has brought into focus for me is the value of librarians and other campus workers to be a part of the community around the university. It fosters richer connections across the board, but so few folks can afford to live in the area.

Today I’m meeting up with some grad students to help them with a BART challenge. It’s easy for me to do because I live close to BART. A lot of my colleagues couldn’t do this.

After today’s long (but productive and affirming) #UCAFT council meeting, I biked over to the print shop to make some prints.

I pulled the joshua tree plate and for whatever reason, this is what happened.

Listen to nothing.
Be still.

Me: Maybe I’ve gone too far in union activism?

Also me: let’s print a bunch of #UCAFT posters
