One thing the #UCAFT librarian contract campaign has brought into focus for me is the value of librarians and other campus workers to be a part of the community around the university. It fosters richer connections across the board, but so few folks can afford to live in the area.

Today I’m meeting up with some grad students to help them with a BART challenge. It’s easy for me to do because I live close to BART. A lot of my colleagues couldn’t do this.

All non-supervisory library workers are more than welcome, but the panel and discussion will be focused on professional librarian positions.
