This next one is tougher, and I basically only use it for stuff that's moving toward the camera.

Each number corresponds to a shape. Each one only moves forward a bit, then jumps back and changes color. This requires coordination!

Can be mixed with srand() for "infinite" scenes

Next one is based on the idea that you can iterate through your drawing shapes twice, and during each pass, you only draw half of them.

This is extra helpful if you want to draw something else in the middle!

@p01 about how I do sorting in #tweetjam entries, so here are some demos of the methods I like. Each clip includes the source in the next reply

First method is an easy one: Just draw the lowest layer first, and the highest layer last. For flat layers, this works well!

Step 2: Rotate them in world space and move the camera around. They get out of order, so sort by distance from camera (bubble sort, natch). [2/3]

Step 1: Make some 3d points and project them onto 2d screen space. [1/3]

RT @: 1/ Do you want to know if a variant will affect the structure and function of a protein?

We’ve got lots of tools and #data in @ensembl to help you investigate and we’re here to show you how! A thread...

Finally updated my "Checking for Overlap" tut for my #Pico8 Educational Toolset. It's a bit easier to see what's happening now. (And the @itchio page also now uses the same theme as the rest of the soon-to-be-released pages.) https://mboffin.itch.io/pico8-overlap

BioMart- of course we all know you can get #GeneOntology annotations with this great tool, but here's a fantastic #tweetorial about converting gene IDs!

1/ Do you have a list of @ensembl IDs that you want to convert to IDs from other databases?

Here's how you can retrieve the @NCBI gene IDs from a list of #Ensembl IDs. A thread...🧵
