We watched the PGF 12U Premier division championship game on YouTube. An Alabama team vs a Texas team.
The Alabama team had players who live in Louisiana and Tennessee, and some from Alabama were hundreds of miles from where the team plays. At 12-13 years old. One kid traveled 7 hours every weekend to play with the team. There is something wrong with how this works if 12U teams have 500 mile radius recruiting areas.

My daughter’s team is playing softball in Turlock this weekend. Starting Saturday just after noon. Going to be a hot weekend!
Strange start to today with a loss for the team and two uncharacteristic strike outs for my daughter (she only had 2 in the whole of the last season). Then she pulls off an in the park home run in the third game. Team ended day 1 with 2 wins, 1 loss ranking us 2nd in our pool. Championship games tomorrow…
