The Ohio government just voted to overturn Dewine's veto of hb 68, which will ban trans healthcare for minors in Ohio and will prevent trans women and girls from participating in women's sports. This is a sad time for trans people in Ohio but we must keep fighting

I'm posting an update to this because it is extremely important. You have until Monday, February 5th to state your opposition to this draft. Repost this post, send the website's link to your friends, spread the word. I don't care how. Please, if you can, help get people to respond to this drafted rule, especially people from Ohio.

HB 68 is the bill Dewine vetoed that would ban hrt for all minors in Ohio and would ban trans women and girls from playing in women's sports. The house is scheduled to meet on January 10th to discuss overriding the veto for this bill.

Even if this and HB 68 are passed, continue to oppose them vocally.

Ohio is planning on placing extremely strict restrictions on adults and minors transitioning. I will link the pdf along with the website where you can give your opinion, but this is urgent. This new rule bars anyone under 21 from receiving any gender transitioning care unless they have a 6 month long mental health evaluation and bans any health care facilities from prescribing hrt to anyone unless they employ or have a contractual relationship with a psychiatrist and an endocrinologist. This will slow down hrt prescriptions and surgical procedures down to a halt and will stop many people whose insurance does not cover a facility with both an endocrinologist and a psychiatrist from receiving any transitioning care in the state of Ohio. Gender reassignment surgery is defined to include vasectomies and hysterectomies so any trans person will be nearly unable to receive either of those surgeries unless it is an emergency.

Ohio Governor Mike Dewine just announced some very concerning rules for trans adults and minors seeking hrt. Specifically the mention of a bioethicist. We'll see if this gets blocked in court.
