What they don't tell you about total solar eclipses is the sky darkens right over you, and at the horizon you see a sunrise/sunset effect...only it's in every direction. Truly breathtaking. My capture of a particularly sublime one on April 8, 2024: "Ultimate Shadow".

#Totalitarianism, from my point of view, is a situation where the lives of individuals and local communities are subjected to some kind of overall #regulation and #control . And the more this total regulation and control interferes into small aspects of their lives (the more total), the higher is the degree of this #totality .
Hence, totalitarianism is not the same as #dictatorship - theoretically, there can be a dictatorship with a low level of totalitarianism (the dictator only wants taxes but without interfering in people's lives in detail) and conversely a #democracy with a high level of totalitarianism (a supermajority votes that total control for the entire population).
