@[email protected] Your argument is for not soldering down SSDs, not for having a separate flash. Apple machines *do* have a separate flash for the bootloader, it just can't boot from anything but internal storage for security reasons. Nobody runs machines with a dead SSD from USB, what they do is replace the SSD. The non-replaceable SSD is the problem, not the firmware/USB situation. Also can you please stop making every second word a hashtag? I swear it is extremely cringe. I know the Fediverse relies on hashtags more, but not like *that*. That is just irritating visual noise.

On the other hand it depends on your useage type and the cargind and discharging controls whether a #LithiumIon / #LithiumPolymer battery becomes a #DangerPillow.
Personally, I prefer #ToolFree #Swappable #Batteries to the point that I'm really looking into finding #LiFePO4 cells and a proper charging/discharging / BMS to use it as a #battery for the #NUCbook.
But that's just me trying a project that needs 6+ digits on 2- digits.
Same with #GluedIn / non- #ToolFree -#Swappable & #Fully Removeable #batteries...

Whilst I dislike the fact that my @Fairphone #FP3plus battery was bulging into a #DangerPillow, being able to tool-free remove it and just get a replacement from #iFixit for less than the cost of labout to get it done by an #AASP on an #iPhone is a godsend.
Personally I want my devices repairable and yes, #Apple designs them to get slower and to be not repairable ON PURPOSE!
