I'm really just loving doing these tiny paintings. They don't always turn out exactly how I want, but I feel strongly in the truth of "practice makes better".
And it's sure a better way to spend a few hours than doomscrolling the news.

Even in just 5 tiny paintings, I can really see the improvement. Particularly in the foliage. Both the grass and background trees are leaps and bounds better than my first attempt.
Not *as* happy with the buildings, fucked them up a bit with the inking as they looked better before and even better in person vs the photo. BUT, progress. And even more important, joy.
Another tiny painting! This one I followed a step-by-step from Leslie Stroz and definitely feel like I leveled up a bit. Always a good feel!
Another tiny painting done!
Really making myself not be too precious with it, and just do the thing after finding myself in the "I don't have time for this, it has to be perfect" brain spiral.
So it's not perfect, but I had fun.
Tiny painting #2!
Did a bit more ink work on this and I think it helps. Still struggling with water balance at this teensy size.
Still, am pleased with it.
Challenged myself to do 100 tiny watercolour paintings as a way to relax a bit, scroll less, and get some mileage on my brushes.
Was a very fun activity and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
I can definitely understand why Leslie Stroz suggests cutting all the small paper pieces for the 100 tiny paintings challenge at the beginning.
It is tedious, for sure. But having those already done will make sitting down to do the paintings much much easier.
Super excited for this. Just becoming more and more the authentic version of me.
