The weather is heating up slowly and I decided to go out and paint more. Drawing all day is also taking its toll on my shoulder so I hope painting more will make a difference there as well.
Painted at the entrance of a solvent factory. There are lots of interesting industrial shapes there so eventually I’ll come back but this one I kept loose and abstract. I thought maybe it’s a bit too loose but after a day I decided to post it anyways.

A fisherman’s straw poncho glows against the ink-dark water, its woven texture catching the last light. The reeds and black rocks seem to dissolve into mist, suggesting depth without perspective.

Why does the frosty air feel heavier where the bamboo grove meets the withered trees?

ich war nie da. es ist ein Auftrag, der noch aus meiner Komfortzone gebracht hat.

I have never been there, I painted this as a present. It took me out of my comfort zone...

I wasn't happy with the framing of Emerald Summer in Ruby Wood - too heavy a frame and too dark mount. So I have re-framed it with a lighter, grey mount and a narrower moulding (more views here https://cognissart.co.uk/emerald-summer-in-ruby-wood ) I hope it works better now, I'll have it with me at Belper Arts Trail in 2 weeks time
