So thrive messenger is down, is there a possible update on this so we know what's happening? has it gone completely? #ThriveMessenger
I would try out #ThriveMessenger but the thing is, I heard that the people involved are storing passwords in plain text format, and I really don't like the sound of that. Couldn't even hash the passwords? Like, what's up with that? I'm sure as hell not giving people my passwords to anything if I know that they are practicing poor security maintenance. Is this right? I might be wrong about this, I must admit, I just heard a rumor about this, but multiple people have said to stay away from Thrive for now, and I'm inclined to listen.
For those using #ThriveMessenger, a new feature has been added for the next release allowing you to toggle interrupting of speech for notifications. You're welcome! @cubic @alexchapman
Alright #ThriveMessenger, you win. I will not use you, ever. I have updated everything I can think of,and still a lovely, not, 10054 connection error. Perhaps I'm being protected from potential drama over there. I don't even know.

Kids and gentleBeings. We are on Thrive messenger. We are:

KelticPhoenix

We almost did CrystalPhoenix for nastalgia reasons, but for the moment... *see above*
We've put the username on the line by itself, so all y'all have to do is C/P. :)

OK, if anyone sees anything from this person: Ra (Freyja) (it/its)𒀭𒈹𒍠𒊩 (@[email protected]) regarding #ThriveMessenger he is just trying to find excuses to discredit me and my fellow devs work. He is just a guy that thinks that he knows it all and thinks that we should go overboard with our local dev environment, AKA our own computers that we are git pulling and doing the coding on, not just the server the application is hosted on. Like dude, no one goes out their way to do TLS shit on their home computers.
Wow. Discussion of #ThriveMessenger caused me to dig out my old IRC Stones game bot. It's 30 years old. That is scary.
The saddest thing is, even if the IRC servers were all still up, I just don't have the headspace like i used to. I can't devote my after-school hours and weekends to sitting online, gaming, chatting anymore as I could pretty much through the end of primary, all through high school and most of college.
The tech's moved on and everything but more than that so have I.
Okay, i'm going to say something, may not be very popular but oh well. It's regarding Thrive messenger. I've seen so many comments about it, please, bear in mind this is a new application. Things will be corrected/fixed in time and some of the wording in these comments has been rude at best. Developers work damn hard to make sure something is right, give them some damn respect. #ThriveMessenger

instead of trying to write out a long commentary about #ThriveMessenger and its growing pains, I'm just going to paste some quotes from one if its "developers":

1. "But here's the thing, your attitude honestly raises the question, if you're so bothered about messages not being seen, does that mean you have something to hide? Like literally, you're freaking out all because there's currently no end to end encryption, like that looks so sus dude."
2. "@... Oh I don't know, looks like there's some fucking idiot who has something to hide otherwise he wouldn't be causing such a scene, oh and he brought up the password drama again, I swear to god some people don't know when to drop it, and its anoying."
3. "if people really wanna know whether AI has helped they can ask, the only problem with mentioning that in the readme is it turns some people off, and I don't wanna contribute to people's mindset of oh its AI, fuck that, mentality."
4. "Dude, no one even accessed those passwords, so you're just making a scene out of nothing, so stop wasting my fucking time and get a grip!"
5. "ahem, Discord doesn't have E2EE, so shut the fuck up!"
6. "I'm not, quote unquote, throwing tantrums. I'm saying this is an early alpha, its right there in the releases, alpha, alpha, alpha."

Alright, let's get something straight. The plain text password issue in #ThriveMessenger was fixed, and me and @cubic don't need people going on about that and trying to ruin things for us. I also want to thank @josh for bringing that bug to our attention, and once he told us about it, it was fixed right away. So for the love of God, can certain people stop bringing that up and trying to say that because that was a bug in the first place that the damage is done, because that is not true, the damage was undone when the commit to fix that was made. Remember people, this is not God forsaken stupid TeamTalk, where the devs aren't even bothering to fix the plain text password problem, they are just letting it be. With that said, can we please shut up about this issue, thank you very much.
