Amazing excerpts in the #NewYorkerMagazine from writer #thomasmallon s mid-to-late '80s diaries as a young man living with fear and loss during the #aids epidemic in #nyc. The #libraryofcongress acquired nearly 150 of his diaries. It didn't initially register that the LoC accepted personal diaries but makes sense; Mallon's would be fascinating to read.
