I did it. I couldn't resist. Here's the tally from today's #ThursdayFiveList, where there seemed to be a remarkable consensus that certain songs were essential elements of any list for the theme #Showtime.

7--"The Show Must Go On"
(5 Queen; 1 Leo Sayer [note this is a different song]; 1 Red Meat [IDK if it's the same.])

5--"Limelight"
(4 Rush; 1 Alan Parsons)

4--"Cabaret" (Liza Minelli)

2--"We Are the Champions"
(1 Queen; 1 Queen + Liza Minelli)

I thought there might be even more of the Queen version of "The Show Must Go On," but I think seeing Queen's "We Are the Champions" might have given me that impression.

I haven't been keeping track, but I daresay this might be the strongest showing for a specific song on any of the h/t T5L lists.

I'm tempted to count how many times Queen "The Show Must Go On" appeared on one of these lists. I'm going to resist that impulse, but it might be a record for h/t groupthink. I wonder if it's because Queen is top of mind after the videos of people in Hungary celebrating and singing We Are the Champions. 🤘 🙌
