Did William Burroughs describe the origins of AIDS in 1959?
The text in the screenshot is from William Burroughs’ Naked Lunch, published in 1959. Some say that it predicts AIDS. He starts off with lymphogranuloma (actually caused by a bacteria) which is associated with AIDS. Burroughs refers to a disease from Kenya. He says that the spread is enabled by sexual transmission — unlike the diseases with jungle vectors — and worldwide travel.

ICHÖR é o novo espetáculo do Teatro da PombaGira com Apoio da Coordenadoria de IST/AIDS, do SUS e da Prefeitura de São Paulo.
O evento que precede nossa estreia é um pré evento de encontro com o grupo e de início da abertura da pesquisa que estamos trabalhando. O espetáculo ICHÖR e as Aulas-Show, são obras e eventos em processo, eventos que vão fomentando a pesquisa e alterando as cenas, eventos que servem de compartilhamento de ideias, procedimentos e práticas pedagógicas do grupo para chegar em suas visualidades e encenação.
A Aula-Show é um evento desenhado para os amantes de teatro, performance arte e pedagogia, e também para o público interessado em discutir métodos de prevenção, estigma e acesso a saúde.
O evento é gratuito e acontece na LoveNOX, o Casarão do Saber Erótico, e necessita de retirada de convites antecipados, porém também pode chegar direto no dia do evento pra curtir a Aula-Show, e também haverá base de testagem, entrega de PREP e PEP, além de algumas vacinas disponíveis para o público!
