Adventurers Don't Snitch
Fascinated by this response to adventurers not trusting the City Guard (fantasy cops). DM looking for the dreaded consequences.
Consequences - a recurring theme (see Daydreaming about Dragons episode 95 for more!).
One consequence - the Thieves Guild might trust you with an occasional side gig. Look for those consequences that might lead to fun adventures before dropping the hammer b/c characters refuse to snitch.
Also my favorite Riften Trashbag, Agnes. Nord/Breton with sticky fingers and a bad attitude.
