I'm looking for #RV & #nomad community here.
🌈🧭🗺️

I'm so close to buying my new home, but with social media falling apart & groups being overrun by disgusting people, I don't have solid groups to chat about this stuff with, anymore.

I'm not sure where to go for information and advice as I narrow down my options. Any #fuckaas out there? Maybe near #Quartzsite even?

There's a place called "American Trails RV Park" in the #TheQ and it makes me laugh when I see it on the map.

In the SL,UT there was a topless bar called American Trails.

I got a full hour of swimming in. 🏊‍♂️ There's a storm that's been a constant 2 hours away, since I got up this morning. So, I have time to get more swimming in, if I can find energy.

My understanding is that if the rain ever does arrive, the entirety of Lake Havasu City is potentially going to flood. Since the ever-imminent storm is supposed to hang around till tomorrow, I'm tentatively thinking I'll drive out in the morning for a visit to #TheQ. Just to scope things out before The Season begins.

Who would win in a fight between #TheToyMaker and #TheQ ?

Druggings, Deaths and Robberies Put New York’s Gay Community on Edge

At first, the men’s deaths were treated as overdoses, until tens of thousands of dollars were found drained from their bank accounts.

Motorcycle Simulation Rig Is Off To The Races

Many arcade machines can be emulated and handily controlled with the standard joystick and button combos. However, a few don't feel quite right without some extra equipment, motorcycle racing games being one of them. So, no longer content to go to an arcade to get his fix, [The Q] welded his own motorcycle simulation rig for playing racing games at home.

After an initial design was sketched out, rectangular tube steel was cut to size and welded together with a MIG welder. A central shaft linked to some secured bearings made the central pivot point. A few pistons offered the resistance needed for leaning into the curves. To the central shaft, a seat and an old bicycle fork were attached. A clever linkage from the handlebars to the base causes the bike to tilt when turning the handlebars and vice versa.

The bike was ready for prime time after some grinding, orange paint, a license plate, and some lights and grips. [The Q] just needed to get the angle of the bike into the simulation of their choice. While we expected a teensy or other microcontroller emulating a controller, [The Q] went for a somewhat simpler approach, and 3D printed a cradle to hold a PlayStation controller. Little levers pull strings to articulate the joystick, and a cable from the throttle grip pulls back the trigger on the controller. All in all, the experience looks pretty decent, particularly when you're comparing it to a motocross arcade machine. What it really needs are some fans blowing for the effect of the air stream coming at you.

If you're thinking about busting out the MIG to make a rig of your own, maybe consider making a homemade car racing rig to complement the bike.

Fat Tire Bike Turned Hubless

Bicycle wheels have looked pretty much the same for over a century, and for very good reason: It works. [The Q] decided to ignore reason for a bit and focus on looks, so he built a fat tire bike without any hubs or spokes.

To make this work, he fabricated two sets of ring shaped "hubs" about the size of the rims, with a series of ball bearings around the circumference for the rims to roll around. The original forks were cut short and welded to a set of brackets that bolt to new hubs. This further complicates the back end as there's nowhere to attach the sprocket cassette. The original rear hub, cassette and disc brake was moved to the inside of the frame. This drives the rear wheel using a second chain attached to a large ring sprocket mounted directly on the rim. The front brake was simply eliminated.

While this new design won't be taking on existing bicycles, we doubt practicality was a priority in the build. It's definitely a head turner, and we can't help but see an opportunity to go even further and build a TRON bicycle.

Just recently, [The Q] turned another fat tire bike into an all-wheel-drive extreme off-roader. For another pedal-powered head turner, check out the strandbeest bicycle.
