Welding Nuts Inside Metal Tubes, Painlessly

Patched the sauna boiler. It had a big crack where smoke escaped because one of the rocks was wedged between the flue pipe and the hotspot at the top where the steel softens from heat. The steel is still good at least.
Not sure if that will hold, so I added a plate over the patch as well.
As usual, very bad access and couldn't get any shape of grinder in there, so I just wire-brushed it by hand a bit and that had to suffice.
The patch couldn't be too thick either as I had to hammer it into shape there.
Rocks back on, more carefully this time.
Clamping a tight welding helmet to your head when you already have a murderous headache was not making this any easier. 🤮
